⎆Walmart Plans to Enter Crypto

According to filings with the US Patent and Trademark Office, Walmart is preparing to create its own crypto as it aims to participate in the Metaverse. The paperwork was filed on December 30 under the title “Walmart Connect”, the firm’s digital advertising venture. With other notable brands entering the Metaverse, it will only be a while before Walmart does so.

⎆USDC Supply on Ethereum Surpassed USDT

Perhaps unsurprisingly, USDC supply has slowly outpaced USDT ever since USDC becomes the primary stablecoin in most DeFi ecosystems, and for the first time ever, it surpassed USDT’s supply in the Ethereum blockchain.

⎆Crypto Job Ads Surged 4x in 2021

Data from LinkedIn showed that the number of open jobs related to the crypto industry soared by more than 400% in 2021 as the size of the crypto market grew by 3x. “Job postings with titles containing terms like “bitcoin,” “ethereum,” “blockchain” and “cryptocurrency” grew 395% in the U.S. from 2020 to 2021, outpacing the wider tech industry — which saw a 98% increase in listings during the same time period.”
