⎆SEC Addresses Concerns on Spot BTC ETF
The SEC asked Bitwise to clarify how the firm will prevent price manipulation in the Bitcoin spot market, according to an official notice released on 1-February-2022. Years ago, the SEC under a different leadership has asked whether there’s any proof that market manipulation exists in the Bitcoin spot market, but it seems that the new leadership might have not seen that prior explanation. Given that, this notice is still a step in the right direction.
⎆Crypto Provision in House Bill to Be Removed
A bipartisan agreement has been met to remove a provision in the US House Bill that would give the Treasury Secretary power to block international crypto transactions.
⎆Solana Labs Launches Solana Pay
One of Solana Labs’ incubated projects, Solana Pay, has launched to let merchants easily accept crypto payments directly from end-users. USDC, SOL, and other SPL-based tokens can be transacted in real-time, allowing merchants to adopt crypto payments without worrying about their volatility. Coincidentally, Phantom wallet, one of Solana’s most used crypto wallets, has also just launched on iOS earlier this week.
