⎆NYSE Files for Its NFT Marketplace
The NYSE has filed an application with the US Patent and Trademark Office for its online NFT marketplace. The legacy financial giant is one of the names in the long list of entities that have set their eyes on potentially launching an NFT marketplace, drooling over the meteoric success of OpenSea.
⎆JPMorgan Jumps Into the Metaverse
The bank that was famously known for being unnecessarily dismissive towards Bitcoin and crypto-assets is now one of the first to jump into the Metaverse, setting up a lounge in Decentraland, a virtual world associated with the token $MANA. The effort seems to have been led by Christine Moy, JPM’s Head of Crypto, stating that there’s a lot of client interest to learn more about the future of the Metaverse.
⎆SEC Probes Binance US
The world’s largest crypto exchange has once again come under regulatory scrutiny as Binance US, the US arm of Binance, is being examined by the SEC. The focus of the examination are two entities, specifically trading firms that market makes on Binance US called Sigma Chain AG and Merit Peak Ltd. — both have ties to Changpeng Zhao, Binance Global’s CEO and penultimate owner of the Binance Conglomerate.
