⎆Apple Eyes the Metaverse
Following other tech giants such as Microsoft and Meta, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook has stated that the firm “see a lot of potential in this space and are investing accordingly”. Apple has known to be dabbling in various Augmented Reality technology research with more than 14,000 ARKit applications in the App Store.
⎆$3.5 Billion Moved from 2016 Bitfinex Hack
94,693 BTC or roughly equivalent to $3.5B have been moved in 20+ transactions from a crypto wallet associated with the Bitfinex hacker in 2016. The news was first reported by blockchain analytics firm Elliptic. Although it’s unlikely that the capital will be cashed out anytime soon, the Bitfinex hacker has been known to slowly launder the capital he hacked from 2016 through darknet markets.
⎆Coinbase Lists Solana-Based Token
Coinbase has for the first time listed Solana-based tokens, Orca and Bonfida. The primary exchange for US-based retail customers has thus far only been listing layer 1 tokens and ERC-20 tokens. This event is a milestone for the Solana blockchain, showcasing that projects built on top of it are slowly gaining real traction.
