The crypto market is down with the global market cap sitting at ~$2.2-2.3 trillion. SUSHI, FTM, and NEAR led the top 100 tokens performance in the past week. Global markets are still relatively quiet, US index futures are steady and treasuries dip.

In partnership with Centrifuge, a crypto firm that enables businesses to tokenize aspects of their operations, including receivables and invoices, and use them as collateral to borrow cash. Having previously stated its effort to create a permissioned market that requires KYC, this step marks AAVE’s initiative to bring decentralized lending into the wider market outside of crypto.

⎆Defense Bill on Strategy for Distributed Ledgers

Biden signed a $770 billion defense bill that introduces a plan to develop a strategy for emerging technologies, including distributed ledgers. While it lacks details and direct mention of blockchain or crypto-assets, it tells the Secretary of Defense to develop a way of incorporating the aforementioned emerging technologies by 1-April-2022.

The year 2021 is without a doubt the year that NFT went mainstream. For a moment, the crypto market was filled with nothing but pictures of various animals trading at a price of a brand new Tesla. While the hype has certainly gone down, data from The Block showcased that the overall NFT trading volume in 2021 surpassed $13 billion.
